Key responsibilities
Support in data collection for investment opportunities in sustainable agriculture and agro-processing practices that contribute to biodiversity conservation, resource efficiency, and climate mitigation and adaption in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Support in assessment of risks/opportunities of agribusiness investments by use of data defined in bullet one.
Drafting and editing investment proposals for financial institutions and corporates.
Support data cleaning and monitoring received from partner institutions to maintain an up-to-date database.
Support in collection of data for certified agribusinesses in key countries of operation.
What we expect
Current enrolment in Bachelor/Master studies or degree in environmental studies, agricultural science, agronomy, or a related field;
Knowledge on agribusiness in Sub-Saharan Africa and their certifications processes such as Rainforest Alliance, Fairtrade or major export crops like tea, coffee, cocoa, cashew.
Excellent communication skills in English (French is a plus), including ability to write clear, succinct reports.
Academic knowledge of sustainable agricultural practices in a wide variety of crops in Sub-Saharan Africa (including new production techniques and precision agriculture technologies).
Proactive personality with a solid track record of working by objectives and effective fulfilment of goals with little supervision.
Ability to work in cross-disciplinary teams and provide support cross-regions. Able to communicate ideas clearly, articulate issues and recommend solutions.
