Position Summary
To ensure proper utilization and standardized implementation of the systems, an Instructional Designer is needed to spearhead the training component. This involves crafting an effective training plan, creating training materials, and presenting a clear roadmap for maximizing the use of the e-surveillance tools. This Instructional Designer will report to the Training and Research Coordinator. This is a part-time position that will be located at the ICAP Nairobi office.
The Instructional Designer accountabilities:
Collaborate with various partners and project teams to identify project training requirements and support the development of training plans.
Develop effective training resources including user guides, quick reference guides, training slides, evaluations, among others.
Assist with the development of training plans and facilitate workshops
Conduct virtual and in-person trainings. This includes actively contributing to the extensive training schedule required to meet project requirements.
Support learners to complete formative and summative assessments and assess their progress.
Evaluate and monitor the effectiveness of training delivery evaluation surveys and assessment results.
Incorporate best practices in learning technologies and instructional design in projects and initiatives.
Implement feedback from workshop reviews.
Develop training reports.
Perform any other duties that may be assigned.
Key requirements
Expertise in adult learning principles: The suitable candidate should have a deep understanding of how adults learn and how to incorporate these principles into your training materials.
Experience with eLearning software packages and content authoring tools:
Familiarity required with eLearning software and tools used to create engaging and interactive learning experiences.
Knowledge of instructional design frameworks: Experience required in instructional design frameworks used to plan and create effective learning experiences.
Online course creation and management: Ability to create online courses in various formats, such as instructor-led or self-directed, and manage and migrate the Sharable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM).
Experience in developing virtual and in-person training resources: Experience in creating both virtual and in-person training resources for technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience in delivering content: Experience in delivering content both in-person and online to a wide range of audiences.
Experience in developing evaluation tools: Experience developing evaluation tools for courses and training.
Excellent communication, presentation, administrative, and report writing skills:
Excellent communication, presentation, administrative, and report writing skills to effectively convey information to your audience.
Proven expertise in instructional design methodologies, adult learning principles, and curriculum development tailored to the healthcare domain.
At least 3 years experience as an instructional designer
Prior experience or understanding of healthcare systems, electronic health records (EHR), and health informatics will be an added advantage.
Education:
-A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, InstructionalTechnology, or a related field provides a strong foundation.
