Job Purpose
The Human Resources Officer will be responsible for establishing efficient and scalable HR processes in a fast-paced start-up environment. They should be a pragmatic, positive, engaging, and experienced HR professional who can handle challenging employee situations with sensitivity and empathy.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Collaborate with the People Operations team to support all aspects of the employee life cycle, including recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, and performance management
Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy
Develop HR policy and procedures to drive performance and mitigate disputes
Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, or other issues
Support managers dealing with employee concerns and performance management processes
Support team members with challenges and issues as they develop in their roles with Amitruck
Build effective scalable HR systems, tactics, and metrics across the organization
Nurture a positive working environment
Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance
Manage the reward and benefit programs
Report to the leadership team and provide decision support through HR metrics
Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management
Experience Required
Bachelor’s degree in Human resource management or related field
At least 3 years of experience in a People Operations or HR role, preferably in a startup or tech environment
Strong understanding of local labor laws and regulations
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS platforms. Experience with Google Workspace a plus
Fluency in English (Swahili a plus)
