Position Summary
As the Human Resource Manager, you will play a critical role in driving efficiency and effectiveness across all aspects of the human resources function. Reporting to the Director, you will lead initiatives to analyze, optimize, and streamline HR processes, policies, and procedures to enhance employee experience, ensure compliance, and support organizational goals. You will ensure employee relations, disciplinary management, and various HR programs to foster a positive work environment and maximize the potential of our workforce.
Key Duties/ Responsibilities
Develop change management plans to facilitate the adoption of new processes, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption to operations. Provide guidance and support to HR staff and stakeholders throughout the implementation process, including training, communication, and troubleshooting.
Collaborate with HR Department to identify trends and patterns in employee relations issues, proactively addressing root causes and implementing preventive measures.
Monitor and evaluate the impact of process changes, collecting feedback and making adjustments as needed to drive continuous improvement.
Partner with legal team to ensure that HR processes and practices adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
Conduct audits and assessments to identify potential compliance risks and implement controls to mitigate them. Keep track of and abreast with the legal environment and ensures that the company is in compliance and all senior staff are aware of these requirements.
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track the effectiveness and efficiency of HR processes. Generate regular reports and dashboards to communicate process performance, trends, and areas for improvement to stakeholders.
Use data-driven insights to drive decision-making and prioritize optimization efforts based on business impact.
Advise managers, and supervisors on best practices for employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary procedures. Partner with legal team as needed to ensure that disciplinary actions are carried out in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
Academic and professional Qualifications and experience required
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Social Sciences
At least Seven (7) years’ experience managing HR processes in a labour intensive and Unionisable environment.
Solid expertise of industrial relations management and experience of working in labour intensive and unionised environments;
Knowledge and working experience with Kenyan Labour laws
