HSEQ Leader

Opportunity Overview:
 
For our Mombasa facility in Kenya, we are currently looking for a highly motivated and committed individual, with relevant experience in ISO, API (Q1 & Q2() and OSHAS 18001.
Nature of the position:
A one year fixed term contract.The full time work schedule for this position will consist of a 45 hr week.
 
Role Overview:  
The HSEQ Leader will be managing and coordinating the Company’s health, safety, environmental and quality function, across all product lines that are Manufactured, Serviced and Rented in all allocated regions, and in accordance with Company policies and procedures and external regulations and regulatory standards such as: API Q1, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.
 
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
Ensuring development of HSEQ procedures and standards, certifying technological processes and procedures, qualifying products and supervising tests. Reviewing and updating HSEQ procedures as legislative or best practice changes occur
Ensuring the Comapny maintains and surpasses the necessary Group, Company, Industry, National and International standards, regulations, statutes, compliance and other governmental guidance to ensure as far as is reasonable practicable, that best practices in the field of HSEQ are exercised      
Leading negotiation of HSEQ standards with customers and promoting the external image of the Company through effective HSEQ management
Coordinating with manufacturing and other internal departments to define and resolve product quality problems and provide advice, guidance and support on all aspects and matters concerning HSEQ to all Hunting Alpha personnel.
Managing all internal auditing programs for the Kenyan site in line with API Q1, ISO9001:2008 (Soon ISO9001:2015) and potentially OHSAS18001, ISO1400 and/or other industry standards
Leading incident investigations, ensuring that methods of investigation and reporting appropriate to the incident are utilised; ensuring that lessons are established and learned and that all parties benefit from these lessons
Developing a suite of Key Performance Measures and initiatives to drive improved levels of HSEQ across the UK Group of companies
Producing weekly and monthly reports to inform senior management of HSEQ issues and submission of HSEQ statistics
Assisting to develop all project risk mitigation measures including task risk assessments; travel and security risk assessment etc.
Take cross functional responsibility for managing the health and safety content for Representatives of Employee Safety
To define, develop and persistently instil efficient and effective process control and policy compliance with respect to HSEQ performance 
Develop HSEQ initiatives to ensure the appropriate culture, knowledge, understanding and attitude towards HSEQ matters and to facilitate continuous improvement as well as widespread acceptance and adoption of best practice. Develop programmes for surveillance and reporting and performance indicators to measure the company’s health and safety performance using standard methods for presentation and promote and monitor compliance and ensure this information is freely available
Provide HSEQ support to the overall Senior Management Team to ensure that the workplace satisfies health, safety and welfare requirements for building, ventilation, temperature, lighting sanitary, washing and rest facilities and provides prevention from and precautions against, or adequate control of, exposure to any foreseeable risks     
Chairing the Material Review Board (MRB) process for quality disposition of all non-conforming products
Introducing Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) Software. Educating all Quality employees and Shop Floor Operations
Accountable to plan and lead/coordinates quality related projects
Issuing of technical documentation for customers, aimed at verifying organisation’s products’ reliability, safety, and guarantee
Accountable that working practices conform to regulatory requirements in order to support registration, product development, and manufacture.
 
Qualifications/Skills and Experience:
 
University or College Degree in Engineering or HSEQ Management/Industry experience      
Green Belt/Black Belt in Lean 6-Sima
NEBOSH 5 or 6 National Diploma or equivalent
Wide ranging Auditing experience
In depth knowledge of HSEQ International Codes and Standards
Experience of ISO9001, API Q1 & Q2, OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001
Risk management and incident investigation skills
Detailed analysis and reporting techniques including the visualisation and analysis of data
High level of computer proficiency (work processing, spreadsheets and presentations
Skilled in preparation, development and delivery of training programs
Valid Kenyan Driving Licence.
