Main job purpose
The role of HR Business Partner Make- ER& IR supports the delivery of the HR Strategy for Kenya Supply chain Function working closely with HRBP – Supply Chain East Africa. You will also work directly with managers, advising on all HR issues and ensuring the effective execution of change. In addition, you will use your knowledge and management of HR Information Systems to provide insight and ensure data reliability.

Key Accountabilities
Supports Unilever talent processes by educating and managers to generate objective and fair decisions.
Co-ordinates and rolls-out internal communication messages
Guides and supports managers in the fundamentals of learning needs and skill gap analyses and provides guidance on the range of learning interventions available
Communicates ER policies and procedures to all levels of the organization and work closely with the SC HRBP to mitigate ER/IR risk.
Advises on Reward & Performance Management tools. Works closely with managers to ensure they understand how performance management tools combine to enhance performance, and attract, engage and retain employees.
Interfaces with HR service providers to ensure delivery of core HR services to the business.
Supports the delivery of, and the compliance with, Unilever HR policies, processes and local employment/labour legislation for all employees.
Supports the SC HRBP or Expertise teams in preparing & providing accurate information, collating & analysing data and producing clear, insightful and meaningful reports
Contact person for all ER/IR issues as well as responsible for addressing all Employee Grievances and facilitating all Disciplinary cases
Manage budgets and absence cost control and reduction.
Gives appropriate input and support to managers who are leading the resolution of ER/IR issues
Facilitates potential conflict situations to achieve consensus legally and ethically
Supports and coaches managers and HR team in understanding employee engagement and ER policies and practices, ensuring understanding of compliance.
Supports the HRBP -SC in negotiations with trade unions, works council etc. on a range of labour issues
Ensures cordial relations between Unilever and the trade union
Coaches and advises managers who are facing ER/IR issues
Knowledge & Skill
Must be University graduate in Human Resource or other related area of study. Post graduate qualification will be an added advantage
Must be a Certified HR Professional or a member of the IHRM
Have at least 5 years working experience in a Busy HR environment; 3 of which should be at a HR Business partnering level specifically Supply Chain Functions. Has strong understanding of employment and labour laws
Demonstrate strong understanding of employment and labour laws of Kenya
Should be strong professional with right Business acumen to bring value to all Business stakeholders
Should be able to act with integrity, impartiality, and independence, balancing personal, organisation and legal parameters
