Health and Safety Officer

Job Description
As a Health and Safety Officer, you will be responsible for facilitating compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act of 2007 and related company policies.
ROLES

Developing, implementing and reviewing the organizational health and  safety  management systems
Prepare weekly and monthly HSE reports
Attend  weekly HSE  Meeting
Prepare the monthly and annual HSE budget for approval
Conducting Contractor’s OHS evaluation, monitoring and management
Incidents and accidents investigation and compiling of incident statistics
Preparing HSE training programs
Conducting internal HSE training and induction
Developing and maintaining of HSE records
Ensuring statutory HSE compliance in the Organization
Conducting Site  inspection and Audit
Coordinating Health and Safety induction of new employees in conjunction with HR department
Coordinating Health and Safety  committee activities
Updating and maintaining the Legal register 

Requirements
SKILLS

Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a telecommunication industry.
NEBOSH IGC certificate
Be a member of Environmental Institute of Kenya
register as an associate expert at NEMA
Must be familiar with Safaricom HSE standards
Outstanding organizational and management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A Bachelor degree  preferably in Enviromental Health,Enviromental Science or Occupational Health will be an added advantage
