The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to lead and oversee the global Girls and Youth Power & Action Hub (GYPA). The Hub’s vision is a world where young people, particularly girls and young women in all their diversity, are active drivers of systemic change, leading feminist movements and campaigns with the support and collaboration of allies across the world.
In this role as the Head of Youth, Movements and Campaigns you will ensure it delivers on its mandate to engage and connect people and partners – inside and outside Plan International – to be an engine for driving youth voice and engagement in all areas.
This role provides overall feminist leadership for this team and mandate at the global level, to ensure Plan International achieves its ambitions and maximises impact with this approach to social change.
About You
With strong knowledge of girl- and youth-led gender transformative programming and influencing, including in humanitarian contexts. You will have a proven track record of leading influential campaigns and developing high-quality youth programming.
You will need to have a deep commitment to feminist leadership principles and proven experience of putting these into practice, including enabling collective self-care and well-being for a high performing and multi-cultural team.
You will have robust change management skills and the ability to ensure strong strategic and operational agility.
You will have experience connecting global and local efforts to ensure sustainable change, and of resource mobilisation.
With an ability to build strong partnerships and relationships, while motivating others and working together to achieve challenging goals in a complex environment.
Location: Flexible where Plan International has a legal entity and the applicant has the pre-existing right to work.
Reports to: Executive Director of West and Central Africa and Girls and Youth Power & Action Hub
Type of Role: Permanent or Fixed Term depending on office contracting regulations
Salary: We will be happy to disclose the salary and applicable benefits to applicants as part of this process, however, please kindly note that this will vary according to the location of the appointed candidate and therefore, for a candidate based in the UK, we would expect to pay circa £65,000
