The Role:
In your role as the Head of Sales – Africa, you’ll take the lead in acquiring new clients for Pepperstone, both individually and by guiding a team of Account Managers. Your mission centers on boosting the conversion rates of demo and trading account applications across Africa, and you’ll also work on establishing essential partnerships in the region. Achieving higher conversion rates will involve training and mentoring our acquisition team, setting sales KPIs, and showcasing excellence in acquisition sales.
As a Head of Sales – Africa, you’ll also dedicate your efforts to retaining and expanding our most valuable clients – those who bring substantial revenue and maintain consistent trading volumes. In this capacity, you’ll actively cultivate relationships to advance Pepperstone’s presence. To excel in this role, you’ll assist a select group of clients with personalized solutions to overcome their unique trading challenges, introduce educational and functional solutions, and engage traders. You’ll also provide valuable insights on financial markets, trading strategies, risk management, and key market developments. The ultimate aim is to enhance the longevity and success of this specific trader segment.
As our Head of Sales – Africa, your key responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Team Leadership and Culture Building
Leading and cultivating a high-performing Sales team, fostering an environment of effectiveness
Prioritizing the development of strong relationships with Pepperstone team members to nurture a robust company culture
Creating and putting into action a comprehensive training plan for team members
Conducting regular one-on-one sessions with team members to review their performance and identify areas for improvement
Organizing sales activities and overseeing the management of Account Managers
Conversion and Growth
Playing an integral role in devising and implementing Pepperstone’s strategy for acquisition and growth
Leveraging Pepperstone’s resources and tools to enhance client conversion
Developing and nurturing relationships through various channels with Pepperstone’s Premium Client Group, with a focus on maintaining their commitment to specific volume thresholds
Securing ongoing premium client funding by demonstrating a clear competitive edge in terms of experience, market knowledge, and personal dedication.
Meeting and exceeding sales targets.
Sustaining client engagement in trading markets through regular distribution of market analysis and trade opportunities
Contributing to the planning and execution of client events as necessary
Collaborating closely with key internal departments, particularly the marketing, operations, and development teams, to garner support for projects and deliver the necessary assistance
About You:
A minimum of 5 years of industry experience in FX and CFD Sales
CISI Level 3 certification
Proven ability to lead and cultivate a high-performing Sales team environment
Demonstrated success in Partner sales and client servicing
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including proficiency in negotiation processes
Exceptional understanding of financial markets and trading strategies
Quick learner with the ability to acquire new knowledge, skills, and capabilities swiftly
Proficiency in numerical analysis and comfort working with numbers
Strong leadership, coaching, and motivation skills for a sales team
Prior experience in team leadership is preferred
Effective decision-making and critical thinking abilities
Background in premium account management or serving high net worth clients
Experience in financial investments is highly regarded
In-depth knowledge of various trading strategies
Familiarity with MetaTrader 4, 5, and cTrader software
