Head of Operations

THE JOURNEY

Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor the Operations team, fostering a results-driven and growth-oriented culture.
Performance & Strategy: Set and track operational KPIs, ensuring continuous improvement in efficiency and service quality (delivery time, fail rates, orders per hour, courier utilization, etc.)
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Commercial and other teams to enhance operational performance and drive growth across Kenya.
Courier acquisition: Identify and engage potential couriers through various online and offline channels, ensuring we optimize funnels and are well-covered during all periods.
Courier & Fleet Experience: Prioritize an exceptional experience, making the platform the preferred choice for our courier partners.
Partner operations: Improve key metrics such as preparation time, waiting time, menu quality, and more.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE RIDE

At least 7+ years of total work experience, with 3+ years managing teams in high-demanding positions. Work in marketplaces, logistics, consulting, investment banking, or related fields are a plus.
Bachelors / Masters degree in Engineering, Math, statistics, Business or related fields are a plus.
Strong problem-solving skills – you are hypothesis-driven & looking for data to drive decisions.
Great communication and interpersonal skills – you can negotiate contracts with large organizations AND explain Glovo’s value proposition to couriers and micro and small enterprises.
Project management skills, highly organized and detail-oriented approach.
Excellent knowledge of Google Suite and/or MS Office, Excel.
Knowledge of the local regulatory environment is not required but will be an advantage.
