Job Description
Under the direction of a supervisor, the head custodian is expected to keep assigned commercial and residential buildings in clean and orderly condition whilst maintaining hygiene and cleanliness.
General Duties for the Head Custodian Job
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

Floor Care
Sweeping
Dry mopping
Wet mopping

Vacuuming

Scrubbing and polishing
Fittings and Fixtures
Clean, Sanitize and Disinfect

Dusting

Dry wiping/Damp Wiping
Polishing
Trash
Gather, Separate (for recycling)
Empty trash and replace trash receptacles.

Bathroom

Service, clean, and supply bathrooms
Clean, sanitize, and disinfect sinks, urinals, toilets
Kitchens
Clean, sanitize, and disinfect sinks, countertops, and other necessary equipment.

Others:

Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors
Steam-clean or shampoo carpets
Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies
Upholstery cleaning
Make beds
Restock
Additional assignments may be given as needed by the Manager of Operation

Responsibilities

Utilize the client’s customized commercial cleaning checklist to perform all tasks to the standards established by Holistic Hygiene Limited.
Devise a plan for the cleaning of each office or room in assigned building on a daily basis.
Coordinate with the supervisor on materials necessary for the upkeep of the building while staying within assigned budget.
Oversee minor repairs and report unsafe working conditions to supervisor.
Follow Company safety and general policies and procedures.
Follow Company Green Cleaning policies and procedures.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor.

Head Custodian Job Skills and Competencies

Grade C+ or above
Ability to speak and write English fluently and relay information between the team, customers and office staff.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Detail oriented – pays attention to details at each customer’s location, with extra attention to any special requests.
Friendly and Professional – able to deal with customers when they are on-site while cleaning is being performed
Team player – ability to work within a team where members depend on each other to get work done.
Self-starter – able to identify work that needs to be done and do it without being instructed to do so.
Desire to learn, seek new challenges and take on additional responsibilities
Reasoning ability – good common sense with ability to solve practical problems.
Must be in good physical condition and able to perform all duties.
Must be professional, neat, and adhere to uniform requirements.
Desire to perform cleaning tasks in an environmentally responsible way.

Education, Certifications and/or Experience

High School Certificate required
At least 2 years of experience in custodial operations and with equipment.
At least 2 letters of reference
Training Certificate preferred

Work Environment

Physical demands include walking and standing, climbing, bending, kneeling to clean floors by hand, push and pull objects, lift and move objects, repetitive bending and lifting, and repetitive arm movements.
Travel to/from customers’ business is required.
Uniforms, provided by Holistic Hygiene, must be worn during work hours
