Job Description
The Gymkhana comprises of a Reception Area and Food / Drink Outlet, Gym and Studio, Swimming Pool and Massage Room, Squash Courts, Tennis Courts and Pavilion, Bowls Greens and Pavilion, Cricket Pitch and Pavilion, Football Pitch and Hockey Pitch. The facilities are patronised by over 150 members per day, is staffed by approximately 15 people and is open from 5 a.m. to 9.00 p.m.
The Gymkhana Coordinator has overall responsibility for effectively managing all aspects of the gymkhana including budgets, sales and membership solicitation, customer satisfaction, training of the staff, general personnel issues and health and safety in the facility, while ensuring the Club is achieving its projected targets in that area.
Responsibilities
Adhere to the Nairobi Club’s financial and human resources and administration policies and procedures at all times;
Effectively manage the Gymkhana budgets
Manage the gymkhana’s revenue and expenses
Prepare and present weekly, monthly and quarterly reports on the performance of the gymkhana including membership reports, and income and expense statements.
Develop programs to maximize member retention, satisfaction and growth
Develop marketing programs, promotional activities and events
Manage inventory, procurement and relationships with key suppliers to the facility within the guidelines provided by Nairobi Club;
Implement policies and procedures to effectively manage all aspects of general administration of the gymkhana;
Implement and manage an effective Health and Safety process to ensure that the gymkhana’s facilities comply with the Health and Safety regulations;
Ensure that all members queries, complaints and compliments are resolved effectively and in good time;
Provide leadership and management to all staff at the gymkhana;
Manage all staff matters within the gymkhana including attendance, monthly and annual performance reviews, and any administration as required under the guidance of the Human Resources Manager
Oversee the efficiency of other staff from other departments in coordination with respective HODs to ensure impact of pavilion services with regards to cleanliness, customer satisfaction, food and drink service is maintained.

Qualifications and Experience
A degree in Exercise Science or Professional Certification in the following areas: Recreation and Sports Management, Sports Administration, Exercise and Sports Science, Group Fitness or Personal Training.
At least three years of related management experience in a health club/hospitality or service industry is required
At least three years’ experience as a gym instructor.
Experience in financial or sales management and/or commission sales will be an added advantage
