Summary of Role:
The Global Internal Communications Manager plays a crucial role in aligning global initiatives with internal communications, working closely with President’s Offices, Country Offices and Global service teams. This position is responsible for creating and executing communication plans for major initiatives, supporting Pathfinder’s transformative journey. In collaboration with the Senior Advisor, Global Services, the Manager ensures seamless integration of communication efforts during key transitions.
Key Responsibilities:
Internal Communication Channel Management:
Serve as the point person for communication guidance.
Collaborate with countries and cross-functional teams to source content for internal communication channels.
Tailor content for various channels, intranet, email, newsletters, Global Town Hall, etc.
Manage and utilize Global Town Hall, weekly newsletters, and other channels to disseminate key messages and updates.
Create and disseminate internal communication products for consistent messaging aligned with organizational objectives.
Maintain, update and improve assigned intranet sites and pages.
Communication Strategy Implementation:
Lead the development and execution of a strategic internal communication plan in collaboration with key stakeholders.
Assist in identifying key messages, themes, and priorities for effective communication of the President’s and senior leadership’s vision and initiatives.
Draft internal announcements, updates, and messages to the organization.
Provides executive communications counsel to senior leadership to help leaders communicate key decisions, and keep staff engaged and informed.
Change Management Communication:
Assist in communicating updates and achievements related to change management initiatives, collaborating with the Senior Advisor, Global Services.
Drive awareness and understanding of change initiatives through multiple communication channels (intranet, email, e-newsletters, announcements, Global Town Halls) and through collaboration with Country-led focal points.
Employee Engagement Initiatives:
Support initiatives to enhance employee engagement and foster a positive organizational culture.
Assist in coordinating events led by the Presidents to engage and connect with employees.
Implement communication strategies that enhance employee awareness and support for organizational goals.
Manage translation and Interpretation policy, systems, and processes to ensure all employees can be engaged.
Measurement and Analysis:
Contribute to establishing feedback mechanisms to gauge employee understanding and engagement with initiatives.
Establish, collect, and analyze metrics related to employee engagement surveys, feedback mechanisms, and communication channel analytics.
Analyze data and feedback to make informed decisions and adjustments to communication plans as needed.
Required Education and Work Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in literature, Psychology, Language Arts, or a related field.
At least seven (7) years of previous professional experience in a similar position, demonstrating strong project management and execution skills, event planning skills.
Use of various design tools and media platforms, and advanced editing and persuasive writing skills. Or equivalent proven leadership and education in communications.
Exceptional business-writing skills, critical thinking, creativity, and flexibility.
Highly sophisticated in delivering sensitive messages in a culturally appropriate manner to help build understanding and empathy in the organization.
Experience in the diversity/cultural competency field and lived multicultural experience preferred.
Experience providing communications counsel to senior executives.
Communication Strategist: Ability to create and deploy a global internal communication strategy that supports the organization’s global strategic priorities across the organization that builds shared understanding of organizational goals and priorities, fosters engagement among employees, and amplifies employee voices across the organization.
Preferred Competence and Work Experience:
Experience working with INGOs.
Executive Communications: Comfort working with and providing guidance to senior leadership on best practices in internal communications and messaging strategies.
