Objective:
Ensure the Business Unit meets its budget targets and maintains high levels of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
P&L and Service Quality:
Achieve budget goals for Warehousing, Corridor & Projects; develop business growth and new client acquisition; oversee branch administration.
Business Development:
Manage projects, transit solutions, and transport; monitor services for customer satisfaction; ensure statutory compliance.
Resource Management:
Meet labour, equipment, and investment needs; maintain relations with strategic partners (KPA, KRA, etc.); plan and oversee daily operations; prepare annual budgets; handle collections and dispute resolution.
Team Management:
Ensure staff welfare, safety, and environment; advise on strategic matters; set goals for service quality and cost control; assess team performance; ensure adequate HR resourcing; conduct operational meetings.
Operational Management:
Manage operational files and profitability; achieve KPI targets; supervise Mombasa depots and warehousing; manage commodity trading; maintain corridor matrices; coordinate movements; negotiate transport rates; manage COLOG and Demurrage risk.
Client Management:
Maintain operational relationships with clients; handle instructions and communications; validate tariffs and quotations; address operational issues; support credit control.
Management Reporting:
Prepare monthly reports; Participate in Quarterly Business Reviews and ComEx; alert on significant issues; inform management of relevant business information; propose solutions to operational issues.
Requirements
Education: Master’s degree in Business Administration; Certification in Clearing and Forwarding. (Added advantage: Certification in Accounting or Finance)
Experience: Minimum 10 years in a busy logistics environment.
