The Peppertree General Manager
They are looking for a charismatic, energetic, self-motivated and results-oriented General Manager to lead the team. The ideal candidate should be able to comfortably run a busy restaurant and bar, motivate the team to reach its full potential, and clearly communicate with the Managing Director and other stakeholders about financial performance.
He/she will ensure an exceptional dining experience through maintaining high standards of food quality, customer service, ambience, and food safety. GM will have P&L responsibility for the restaurant and is expected to manage operational costs, inventory and controls, and maintenance and repairs.
Scope of work:
Oversee daily restaurant operations
Understand and manage restaurant financial performance
Maintain high customer service standards
Oversee the inventory and ordering of food and supplies
Enforce food safety standards
A detailed Job description for the position is as follows;
Operational responsibilities
Oversee the daily Front of the House and Back of the House restaurant operations
Manage inventory, controls, and supply chain by following the restaurant SOPs.
Ensure compliance with licensing, hygiene and appropriate health code and safety legislation/guidelines.
Ensure equipment and restaurant decor is maintained to a good standard
Contribute to revenue generation by driving foot traffic to the restaurant
Financial Management
Manage the budget, including all controls such as labor management, cost of goods sold, inventory processes, sales vs targets e.t.c.
Understand the restaurants KPIs and work towards achieving them
Monitor and control operational costs and identify measures to cut waste and theft
Create detailed weekly, monthly and quarterly financial reports to be presented to the Managing Director
Stakeholder Management
Supervise a team of restaurant staff by creating a cohesive work culture of team members who communicate effectively and work harmoniously.
Appraise staff performance, provide feedback and training to improve productivity and develop staff members
Create a professional work environment that maintains employee safety standards
Champion the delivery of superior service to maximize customer satisfaction
Track customer experience and ensure timely response to customer queries and complaints
Desired Candidate Profile
The right applicant would have the following skill set:
At least 3 years experience in a restaurant management position
Acute financial management skills with good exposure to managing a budget
Strong written and oral communication skills
Solid business awareness and understanding of various functions
