THE JOB
After sustained growth, we are looking for a dedicated General Accountant & Financial Analyst to join our dynamic team and support our financial operations. Currently, we have a Financial Consultant but due to an increase in the volume of time-sensitive transactions that we handle, there is a need to bring in someone in-house as well.
You will play a crucial role in our finance team, responsible for analyzing financial data, preparing financial reports, bookkeeping, record keeping, and ensuring the accuracy of our financial records. This role combines analytical and accounting skills to support strategic decision-making and maintain financial health. As the sole internal finance personnel in the organization, this individual will handle all financial tasks, including invoicing, payments, payroll and finalizing ERP implementation (data cleanup of ledger transactions uploaded, automating entry of recurring supplier invoices, listing of suppliers/vendors, etc).
In this role, you’ll be reporting administratively to the Managing Director and functionally to the Finance Consultant.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Analysis:
Conduct comprehensive financial analysis to support business decisions.
Analyze financial performance and trends to identify areas for improvement.
Prepare detailed financial models and forecasts.
Provide insights on revenue, expenses, and profitability.
Accounting:
Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
Manage accounts payable and receivable functions.
Timely processing of financial transactions into accounting system (Zoho)
Preparation of various monthly, quarterly, half-yearly & annual management and financial reports required by the business.
Support the cash flow management process through timely bank reconciliation, cash statements preparation and other general ledger reconciliations.
Preparation of accurate, complete and valid financial reports that are in conformance to reporting standards and are in adherence to financial policies and procedures.
Analyzing business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments and obligations to support the budgeting and forecasting decisions.
Computation and preparation of tax returns and payments of statutory/regulatory fees to relevant authorities.
Payroll accounting
Preparation and filing of monthly VAT returns.
Liaising with auditors to assist in audit completion
Invoicing and Payments:
Invoice clients and receipt their payments on the ERP and eTims.
Assist with record-keeping of relevant documents, such as invoices, receipts, and credit notes.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts.
Monitor budget performance and report variances.
Work with departmental heads to develop and manage budgets.
Reporting:
Prepare and present financial reports to management.
Generate monthly financial statements and management reports.
Assist in preparing reports for stakeholders, including investors and regulatory bodies.
Compliance and Auditing:
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
Assist in internal and external audits.
Maintain documentation for audit purposes and support audit processes.
Process Improvement:
Identify and implement improvements to financial processes and systems.
Support the implementation of the organization’s ERP.
Enhance financial data accuracy and reporting efficiency.
Payroll:
Process payroll and ensure timely and accurate payment of salaries.
Maintain payroll records and handle employee inquiries related to payroll.
Ensure compliance with all payroll-related regulations and tax requirements.
Prepare payroll reports and assist in year-end payroll activities.

Requirements/Qualifications
Illustratable progress in pursuing professional certifications (e.g., CPA -Minimum of Section 4, ACCA). Completion of one of these would be an added advantage.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field is an added advantage
Minimum of 3 years of experience in general accounting and at least 1 year of experience in financial management accounting. Experience in the service industry e.g. audit is a bonus.
Strong proficiency in financial planning and analysis.
Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP). Experience with Zoho Books specifically would be an added advantage.
Strong Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets skills and familiarity with financial reporting tools.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
