Forages Intern

Position Summary:
The Tropical Forages Program is seeking for a Student Intern to be based in Nairobi, Kenya. The intern will support research staff in activities related to modelling the impacts of forage technologies in livestock systems in East Africa using the Integrated Assessment Model.
Key responsibilities will include:

Perform a review on literature/datasets related to crop, livestock management practices and forage agronomy in order to identify existing crop data, forage data, livestock breeds and livestock feeding practices in East Africa.
Populate database with crop, livestock and forage data gathered from literature review.
Support the preparation of a list of data required that could not be found
Populate CsPro database with household, feed, and environmental data

Qualifications and personal attributes:

Bachelor’s degree qualification in animal science, agriculture, environment or related field
Final year student or less than one year after degree completion and should not have secured employment during this period.
An interest in livestock, the environment, and tropical forages
Competency in Microsoft Excel
Very good command of English, Kiswahili

Terms of Internship:
The Internship period will be three (3) months, renewable up to six (6) months depending on performance and availability of resources.
