Fleet and Logistics Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a Fleet and Logistics manager who will be responsible for selecting the right vehicles and maintaining them in good operating condition so that the company can meet its civil works objectives efficiently and cost-effectively. The Fleet and Logistics manager should have considerable operational experience in logistics and vehicle maintenance, and use fleet management software to track and monitor the various aspects of fleet and driver operations.
RESPONSIBILITY:

Prepare a vehicle maintenance schedule in consultation with mechanics to reduce vehicle down time and routine maintenance.
Analyse and collect all fuel consumption data for vehicles by providing a monthly report on vehicle fuel efficiency based on data collected.
Keep a record of all services, repairs and replacements done on the vehicles by ensuring that each vehicle should have a separate file with its details.
Ensure all vehicle insurance and inspections are up to date and all requests for vehicles should be done at least one month prior to expiry.
Ensure all vehicles pass the roadworthiness guide set out by the NTSA this includes ensuring they have first aid kit, fire extinguishers, reflectors etc.
Ensure all vehicles services are done regularly and on timely basis with no vehicle passing by over 200km.
Monitor the movement of vehicles between sites and locations by monitoring and checking all vehicle log books.
Ensure that a file of all drivers’ licenses is kept to ensure that all licenses are updated.
Monitor the hiring and training of all drivers.
Provide recommendations for lowering vehicle operating expenses and idle time of vehicles.
Ensure the maintenance of vehicle workshops
Plan and prepare annual budget, expenditure for all vehicle spares, and maintenance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Degree in business Administration or any other relevant degree course
Professional Qualifications in Fleet and Logistics management
Good knowledge of Fleet and Logistics software’s and excel packages
Minimum of 3 years work experience with 1 year in supervisory level
