JOB OVERVIEW:
The purpose of this job is to perform specialized duty functions in preparing for and responding to fire/medical emergency calls and in providing general support within the Fire Department/surrounding area.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to drives and operates fire apparatus (Structural and ARFF) and performs a variety of technical tasks in fire suppression, rescue, emergency medical services, prevention, investigation, administrative and other special assignments.
DESCRIPTION OF JOB TASK AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Drives various fire apparatus to incident scene in response to fire alarms, emergency medical service calls and other emergency calls.
Operates numerous types of rescues, salvage, emergency, and fire suppression equipment.
Ensures proper rules for pump operation and hydraulic calculations are applied during operations.
Ensures all vehicles are serviceable and takes preventive maintenance measures and is ready to always use.
Have knowledge of positive and negative water supply locations.
Responsible for overall maintenance of all assigned apparatus to include all tools and equipment on board and maintains proper stock of supplies on apparatus.
Reports all discrepancies to their shift supervisor for resolution.
Responsible for the safe operation of the vehicle and safe arrival of crew members.
Will maintain proficiency and assume duties as a firefighter as required.
Administers emergency medical care as an emergency medical responder, follows all department SOP’s and protocols.
Complies with all safety rules and policies; safety infraction(s) are reason for termination.
Subject to mandatory over-time and emergency recall.
Shall provide cover for Fire Dispatch operator when required.
Provides vehicle rescue services to ensure prompt response by emergency personnel to minimize the risk of injuries and loss of life.
Provides various standby, as requested by the Government, to ensure prompt response by emergency personnel to minimize the risk of injuries and loss of life.
Provides fire suppression services to ensure personnel and equipment are in a constant state of readiness to promptly respond to fire dispatch calls and to minimize injuries, loss of life, and damage to property.
Provides structural fire suppression services to ensure structural fires are extinguished in a timely manner and injuries, loss of life, and damage to property are minimized.
Provides wildland fire suppression services to ensure wildland fires are extinguished in a timely manner and injuries, loss of life, and damage to property are minimized.
Assists as required for shipboard fire suppression services.
Provides aircraft fire suppression services to ensure fires are extinguished in a timely manner and injuries, loss of life and damage to property are minimized.
Performs standby crash, fire, and rescue services for all aircraft landing and takeoff and other aircraft operations to ensure prompt response by emergency personnel to minimize the risk of injuries and loss of life.
Performs other duties and assignments as required or as directed by the Crew Chief, Station Chief, Assistant Fire Chief, Fire Chief.
BASIC JOB QUALIFICATIONS: (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Drivers/Operators shall be licensed IAW NAVFAC P-300 and OPNAVINST 5100.12 and demonstrate successful competency in the Structural and ARFF operators training program.
Drivers/Operators shall be certified by the Emergency Vehicle Operator Course and shall obtain a government license.
Drivers/Operators shall be certified by the Airfield Vehicle Operator Course provided by the Government.
Possess the ability to demonstrate firefighter knowledge and skills professionally.
Ability to work effectively with fellow employees and management personnel at all levels including multinational staff, and military officials.
Strong ability to exercise professional discretion and good judgment and to understand the effect of decisions made.
Exhibit strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing and must have good computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
Must pass overseas medical screening and be in good health.
Must hold country and Government driver’s license.
Must be CAC eligible and/or able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC)
Must be able to pass the annual firefighter Occupations Health Exam and SCBA Fit Testing IAW NFPA 1500, 1582, and 1583 including but not limited to the physical strength and ability to perform heavy and strenuous tasks for extended periods under dangerous and uncomfortable conditions, often while wearing bulky protective gear, including self-contained breathing apparatus

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Must have at least a high school diploma is required; an associate or bachelor’s degree is preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Must have at least (3) years of experience as a Firefighter or Driver/Operator working on a DoD installation or equivalent.
Basic terms of the job offer.
Assignment Duration: 12 months. Renewal subject to performance and project status.
Base Monthly Salary: 48 hours per week minimum work requirement: $1,256.70 (based on 48 hr. work week requirement)
Working schedule: 48 hours per week (8 hours per day/6 days a week)
Payroll period: Monthly. Amount give take home.
Overtime: Work more than 8 hours per day or work performed on a rest day and/or holiday,will be paid as overtime at the base salary rate.
Accommodations: Housing, transportation, meals in-country, and laundry facilities are provided
Sick Leave: Employee will accrue 2.67 hours of sick leave for each full month of service, beginning with the completion of the first full month of Foreign Service employment.
Annual leave Up to 21 days paid at the end of each 12-month contract.
Travel will be provided by the employer to the employee’s home country.
