Responsibilities:
Perform periodic inspections of all work areas.
Identify fire and safety hazards and recommend controls measures.
Perform follow up inspections to ensure that corrective measures are taken.
Develop and conduct training and fire drill programs and group presentations or information relative to fire prevention and fire regulations for staff.
Ensure fire and safety equipment & facilities are periodically tested and recorded accordingly.
Conduct preliminary investigation on fire safety related incidents.
Identify and ensure compliance to all legal requirements relevant to fire safety.
Ensure fire safety plan is reviewed annually.
Prepare reports on accidents and incidents and maintain records of activities, trends and needs.
Monitor adherence to fire/safety policy documents and ensure they are filed with the relevant authorities
Guide and support in disaster management programmes and ensure strong systems are in place to maximize safety.
Ensure effective adherence of all fire and safety procedures by all employees, patients, visitors and other stake holders
Participate in all team efforts as departmental needs arise.
Requirements:
Degree in Sciences and / or Higher Diploma in Engineering related field.
4 years’ experience in fire/safety systems implementation.
Fire and safety training is an added advantage
Excellent organizational skills
Good communication skills, both written and oral
Excellent analytical skills
Knowledge of ISO systems and JCIA is an added advantage
Must be a good team player.
