Finance Manager Logistics Manager

Overview of the role
Directly report to the Managing Director East Africa, with a key responsibility to provide leadership and coordination of all company financial planning, debt financing, budget management and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities

Preparation of financial statements in accordance with Kenyan Accounting Standards
Direct and coordinate company financial planning and budget management functions.
Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget.
Communicate with headquarters in all financial matters and financial reporting.
Direct and coordinate debt financing and debt service payments with external agencies.
Manage daily operations of the finance and accounting department (A/R, A/P, General Accounting, Fixed Assets, year-end closing)
Treasury and payroll accounting and management
Manage the preparation of the official annual plan of actual revenues, gross margins, expenses and investments.
Manage the preparation of financial outlooks and financial forecasts.
Prepare financial analysis for contract negotiations and product investment decisions.
Ensure compliance with local and international bodies
Work and consult with department managers and corporate staff to develop business plans for the company.
Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
Serve as primary legislative liaison relative to company financial issues.
Direct financial audits and provide recommendations for procedural improvement.
Contact person for auditors, tax consultants, banks and government and tax agencies
Prepare and file of tax returns promptly
Advance Legal matters of the company, cased related to taxes, duties, refund claims etc.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field and Certified Accounts/Financial Professional
Additional qualification of company secretary (CS) will be highly desired although not essential; knowledge of legal matters
Minimum 7 years’ experience on similar role and 3 years on a senior management role
Ability to analyse financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections to the Managing Director and Board of management
Working knowledge of short and long term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis.
Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
IT knowledge regarding MS Office and SAP system.
Fluent in English, German optional.
