Finance Manager – EBIL

Job Purpose Statement
Responsible management, administration and coordination of finance department activities for the subsidiary. These will include continuous development and monitoring of internal controls, protecting and growing company assets, fostering operational efficiency, contribution to the implementation of company strategic initiatives, and facilitation of accurate and timely financial performance reporting to support management decisions.
Key Accountabilities: 

Preparing quarterly and annual board papers on financial report and presentation to board.
Preparation of financial report in line with IFRS.
Advisor to the entire organization on all financial matters.
Cash flow management. 
Daily management, training and guiding of finance team. 
 Ensuring that all relevant taxes such as VAT, withholding taxes, instalment taxes are submitted on time. 
Ensuring company compliance with all the regulatory requirements such as KRA, IRA, NSSF, NHIF etc.
Overseeing credit control function. 
Formulation and implementing of policies and procedures for the finance department. 
Investments decisions in liaison with Investment Committee. 
Periodic review of general ledgers and bank accounts of the Intermediary. 
Approval of all payments of the organization in line with the policies and procedures of the organization. 
Overseeing daily operations of the finance and administration department. 
Preparing weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports that comply with all the relevant regulations and submitting the same to all the relevant users. 
Liaison person on all financial issues with the third parties such as insurance companies, Equity Group.
Coordinating budgeting processes for the organization and monitoring of the same. 
Coordinating compliance, Risk and both internal and external audit Reviews. 
Any ad hoc tasks assigned by management

Qualifications
 
Education and Experience 

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
Professional certifications such as Certified Public Accountant.
Member of ICPAK or a recognized Accounting body and in good standing.
4 – 6 years of relevant experience in financial reporting, preferably in the financial services or insurance industry.
Knowledge or experience in the Insurance industry will be an added advantage

Proficiency in excel and presentation skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial analysis and reporting.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
Excellent customer service, client relationship management, communication, negotiation, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
Sense of judgement with both qualitative and quantitative tools to provide sound and comprehensive analysis/evaluation of financial data.Description
