Financial Planning and Analysis

Budgeting: Prepare and manage the annual budget, ensuring it aligns with the SACCO’s strategic goals.
Forecasting: Analyze financial trends to provide forecasts and identify potential risks.

Financial Reporting

Monthly Reports: Prepare and present monthly financial statements and reports to the board and stakeholders.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure financial reports comply with regulatory standards and guidelines.

Cash Flow Management

Monitoring Cash Flow: Manage daily cash flow to ensure the SACCO has sufficient funds for operations and member services.
Liquidity Management: Develop strategies to maintain liquidity while maximizing investment returns.

Loan Management

Portfolio Analysis: Monitor the loan portfolio to assess performance, identify delinquencies, and manage risk.
Policy Development: Develop and enforce lending policies to minimize risk and ensure responsible lending practices.

Investment Oversight

Investment Strategy: Formulate and implement investment strategies that align with the SACCO’s objectives.
Performance Monitoring: Regularly review investment performance and make recommendations for adjustments.

Member Services

Financial Advisory: Provide financial advice and support to members, helping them understand products and services.
Member Relations: Foster positive relationships with members, addressing their financial needs and concerns.

Team Leadership

Staff Management: Supervise finance department staff, providing training and support to enhance their skills.
Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to promote financial literacy and effective resource utilization.

Risk Management

Risk Assessment: Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
Internal Controls: Establish and monitor internal controls to safeguard the SACCO’s assets.

Strategic Planning

Long-term Strategy: Participate in the development of long-term financial strategies that support the SACCO’s mission and vision.
Performance Metrics: Set and track performance metrics to measure financial success and operational efficiency.
Any other lawful duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Required Qualifications and working experience:

Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field
Masters’ degree is an added advantage
A professional accounting qualification CPAK finalist or ACCA
At least 5 years’ experience in a related field
Sound knowledge of Deposit -Taking Saccos and the regulator’s (SASRA) guidelines governing DT saccos.
