Finance Manager

Our client, a successful high growth holding company that owns, manages, and develops businesses in the human resources and health care sectors seeks to hire an ambitious and self-driven Finance Manager to handle all holding and portfolio company finance and administration activities. He/she will be tasked to oversee the full spectrum of financial and management accounting, including regulatory reporting, for the holding company and portfolio companies.
The ideal candidate will possess the professional maturity and range of skills to effectively manage with minimal supervision and maximum responsibility. Moreover, the candidate must have the ability to successfully execute both mundane and complex tasks. While prior legal, finance, technology, and or health care experience are helpful, solid accounting and finance skills are essential.
Hours Of work
This is a night position. 40 hours per week. Usual working hours are between 6:00pm-2:00am, Mon to Friday. The start and end times may be subject to change, and are at the sole discretion of the management based on the company’s needs.

Duties and Responsibilities
 

Finance

 Manages and performs day-to-day accounting, payroll, bookkeeping, insurance, accounts payables, invoicing, payroll, budget and cost controls, contracts management and cash management.
Ensure timely and accurate finance reports and financial positions (balance sheets, profit & loss statements) to guide the Management on decision making.  
Ensure tax compliance as well as manage external audits.
Ensures accurate and timely reporting, liaises with relevant regulatory and outside professional services to ensure compliance with relevant statutory requirements and standards.
Constantly reviews work practices and procedures for better operational efficiency and potential issues in accounts, financial processes, and controls, and proactively raises management’s attention to act and resolve as needed
Produces and reviews financial reports, ensures that expenditure is according to approved contractual budgets and that all taxes are filed and paid in a timely manner.
Establish and enforce methods of reducing financial risk to the holding company without compromising financial performance.
Evaluate cost/benefits, identify appropriate alternatives and make recommendations on cost effective initiatives within the Finance Department and for the business. 
Initiate process improvement and implement change to achieve financial efficiency. 

Administration

Supports overall office operations for the holding company and all portfolio companies
Coordinates with corporate accounting/outsourced payroll firm on corporate secretarial matters.
Provides support at the board and advisory group meetings, performs other appropriate duties upon request by portfolio company executives, and Owners.

 Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounts plus professional qualification in CPA, ACCA or its equivalent, A Masters’ degree in relevant field will be an added advantage.
Minimum of 8 years’ experience of directly related experience including experience in finance and operations management. Experience working with an international organization at a regional or international level would be an added advantage
Good knowledge of GAPP
Experience with QuickBooks and other Accounting Software is required
Advanced computer skills, particularly knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel software
