Finance Manager

About the role
Food for Education is rapidly expanding, and is looking for an experienced Finance Manager who will be in charge of all day-to-day accounting procedures, budgets, financial modelling, and financial planning, as well as other responsibilities as detailed below.
Job description 
General Accounting

Manage all accounting functions, including bookkeeping /ledgering and financial transactions, and all asset, liability, and capital account entries.

Management Accounting/Costing function

Provide financial analyses on operational costs and develop and recommend strategies to reduce unit cost of Food for Education’s core service delivery.

Reconciliations

Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information

Reports

Prepare regular financial management reports to the CEO, management team, and Board of Directors, including monthly closes, quarterly reports, and annual reports
Prepare special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends

Annual budgets

Manage the annual budgeting process.

Audit

Manage the audit process and work closely with the auditors and management to establish financial controls and procedures to meet stringent accounting standards
Coordinate internal audit. Annual and KRA audit

Internal Controls Management

Comply with national and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
Maintain customer confidence and protect operations by keeping financial information confidential
Secure financial information by developing procedures for data backups and maintain financial security by following internal controls.

Others

Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Skills and Qualifications:

Certified Accounting Professional CPA (K) or an equivalent.
Experience with company accounting, financial modeling, financial reporting, budgeting, and audit processes.
Attention to detail, strong organizational and time management skills are essential
Ability and willingness to work in a dynamic, start-up environment
At Least 3 years of relevant experience
Strong interpersonal skills, able to work collaboratively in a team
Strong oral and written communication, ability to communicate at different levels of the organization.
