They are seeking a Field Operations Lead to join their growing team and help shape how farmers access farm inputs and products, credit, and customized advice at scale. This person will own their Field Agent Success Team and build systems to scale the field agents from 250+ independent contractors in Kenya today to 5,000+ individuals across the continent in 3 years. The field agents team is an integral part of their operations and its success is key to Apollo’s scale.
Duties and Responsibilities
Build systems to scale Apollo’s operations team. This will require deep strategic thinking and solid execution, owning the full cycle of an independent contractor’s lifecycle as follows:
Recruitment: Facilitate the hiring and on-boarding of 5000+ high-performing field agents scalably and efficiently. Find creative ways to do this without a significant ground presence but leveraging on their world-class technology and business intelligence teams
Training: Help with building repeatable, efficient, and effective training systems for the field agents. This will include thinking through how Apollo can build automated systems that train agents to represent the brand and do quality work in every community they work in
Performance Management: The customer data collected by agents must be at both, high volumes and high quality. Apollo has already built some of the region’s most sophisticated fraud detection tools to manage their agents and are looking for someone to lean into the intersection of operations and technology to systematically manage the performance the agents
Asset Management: Their field agent network collects the data that drives their lending process using smartphones and a proprietary Apollo app. The successful individual will take lead on enabling every Apollo agent to access a smartphone and the app without incurring significant costs
Build, manage, and motivate the Field Agent Success Team that supports the field agents from HQ, including setting KPIs, hiring required staff, and effectively managing the rapidly growing team with consistent team training and performance reviews
Spend time both in the field and with data to continuously collect insights, review trends, and work with other teams to recommend product changes and process improvements that favour scale
Desired Candidate Profile
You have at least 4 years of work experience in a role that requires deeply strategic and analytical thinking
You have experience building and working on tech platforms
You have experience with data collection and analysis, using this to make informed decisions
You have high-quality project management skills
You have fantastic relationship management skills and frequently engage clients
You have experience with end-to-end recruitment and performance management
