Field Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY:
The field coordinator has responsibilities to ensure effective implementation and linkage between service delivery and demand generation while ensuring quality activity implementation that meets the organizational and donor deliverables. The Field coordinator provides day to day guidance and technical assistance in implementing and monitoring projects in assigned counties and in integrating content and participation of relevant stakeholder in EngenderHealth’ programs across community groups (adolescents and youth, women’s groups and community leadership) and that appropriate documentation is carried out. The position works with the in-country team, as well as with a range of external partners and stakeholders
Roles and responsibilities
Health systems:

 Monitor continued service provision of reproductive health services as supported at various assigned health facilities and pharmacies and documenting the same.
Supporting health facilities and pharmacies  to organize monthly service delivery in-reach days  and outreaches in collaboration with the community mobilisers ,Reproductive Health Coordinators , and partners
Liaise with the technical Advisors  on technical issues arising from health facilities and facilities  for follow-up and action and monitoring
Link providers and clinical mentors/ program support team members as need arise to ensure
Supporting implementation of quality of care checks through supporting the integration of periodic client exit interviews in health facilities.
Monitor availability of MA, and contraceptive commodities and liaising with the technical advisors and commodities focal point for support to resolve gaps.

Community Access support:

Liaise with the technical advisors on technical issues arising from communities and health facilities for follow-up and action and monitoring
Support community-based groups, mobilisers in work planning and implementation of planned activities
Support documentation of activities and achievements from demand generation work and collection of
Provide linkage between demand generation and service delivery in liaison with relevant EngenderHealth technical advisors.
Ensuring that partners at community and county levels are utilizing data collection tools and such tools submitted to EngenderHealth on a monthly basis or as directed.

Project monitoring:

Collection of health facility CAC Log book and FP summaries data from sub-county programs focal person or as directed and transmission of the same to the health systems advisors
Collection and verification of data from CBOs and CHEWs for community access and mobilization work and transmission to the community access and youth advisors.
 Submission of monthly work reports and calendar of activities to supervisors.
Identification of success stories within the health facilities and community and liaising with the relevant technical focal person for documentation

Administrative: 

Coordinate  preparation of EngenderHealth meetings and trainings as may be assigned
Carry out any other duties as assigned.
Accurate reporting of work assignments in various ICT EngenderHealth platforms.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATIONS

Relevant diploma in Public/community health related field (clinical medicine, nursing) or community development.
At least 2 years relevant work experience
Knowledge and experience in community mobilization, capacity building and training of community groups
Relevant experience in working in adolescent reproductive health programs and especially with a focus on contraception, abortion care and community mobilization for behavior change.
Experience in event planning/ coordination, administration, and/or public health is preferred
Ability to travel 50%

ESSENTIAL SOFT SKILLS

Working knowledge of computer software, Microsoft Office 
Strong interpersonal and communications skills
Knowledge and experience in community mobilization, capacity building and training of community groups
Must be familiar with working with youths
Computer literate and good working knowledge of Microsoft office
Good working knowledge of both written and spoken English, Kiswahili and Major local language spoken in the specific county )
