Factory Maintenance Engineer

Job Summary:
Lead a technical team in providing maintenance support for a client FMCG manufacturing plant. This includes mechanical support, electrical support, workshop/fabrication support, boiler and compressor operation and maintenance, ETP operation and maintenance, fire suppression and water supply systems, conveyor maintenance, HVAC and refrigeration installations among other equipment.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure adequate departmental staffing, Supervising engineering and technical staff, ensuring timely and quality service delivery
Planning and undertaking scheduled inspections and maintenance
Promptly responding to breakdowns
Adhere to a strict machine inspection schedule diagnosing faults and initiating repairs before equipment failure. Target is zero down time.
Obtaining specialist components, fixtures, fittings or materials
Managing budgets
Maintaining all departmental records including check lists, jobs logs, action closure trackers, staff attendance etc
Ensuring compliance with site health and safety regulations
Managing stocks of supplies and equipment.
Ensure proper housekeeping in all work areas

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

At least five years’ experience in a busy FMCG manufacturing plant in a senior maintenance supervisory or managerial role, involved in installation, operation, repair and maintenance of industrial equipment
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering and be registered with engineers board of Kenya.
Project scoping, designing  and costing
Proficient in use of engineering design software(Autodesk AUTOCAD and Autodesk Inventor)
Ability to work well under pressure with minimum or no supervision
Good verbal and written communication skills

Good planning and priority setting skills
Team building and working skills
People management skills
