Responsibilities
Provide L2 support for SIP trunk services, other system-related problems and ensure SIP Trunk systems adhere to industry security standards and company policies
Work with external PBX service providers to resolve connectivity or service issues as needed.
Validate IP/VLAN plans for new Enterprise customer connections as received from IP planning teams
Maintain relevant live Enterprise service trackers and data to monitor all critical Service Level Agreements
Troubleshoot on L2/L3 IP connection for Enterprise customers via microwave or IPRAN
Work with field operations teams to clear alarms on last mile connections for live services
Troubleshooting last mile/customer premises equipment (CPE) connectivity with partners/Tx engineers
Perform capacity upgrade/downgrade configurations for Enterprise links
Prepare and present change requests in CMB for configuration change approvals and ensure E2E change management life cycle process
Ensure proper security hardening of IP connections to minimize network vulnerability exposure
Configure port limiting on last mile connections
Support presales solution architect in capacity planning and forecasting
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in IT/ Telecommunications, Electrical, Electronics engineering or its equivalent with at least 3 years working experience within the telecommunications industry with a strong bias in ISP/fully Integrated operator environment
Advanced level understanding of wireless telecommunications and IP protocols with 3 to 5 years’ experience in a highly interactive environment.
Experience with SIP software and hardware such as PBX systems (Cisco, Avaya, Asterisk, etc.), softphones, and handsets
Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs) and troubleshooting tools (Wireshark, etc.).
Working knowledge in operation and configuration of multi-vendor IP equipment (microwave, routers & switches)
