Job Summary
As a member of the management team, the Enterprise Development Manager will contribute to the overall vision and direction of KCV Limited. She/he will focus on the overall investment portfolio management including coordination of technical assistance and business development support to investees. The role is based in Nairobi and requires an individual who is open to travel.
Key Responsibilities
Effective and Efficient management of KCV Limited investment portfolio.
Manage planning and delivery of Technical Assistance and Business Development support to investee companies, including schedules for sourcing and monitoring delivery by service providers and linking portfolio businesses to potential sources of additional investments.
Provide periodic reports on the investment portfolio, information trends and other relevant information for internal decision making, funders and other relevant stakeholders.
Coordinate the KCV Limited portfolio learning agenda in a manner that contribute to the wider learning agenda of KCIC Group, to further the reputation and capability positioning of the Fund, have a wider systemic impact on the relevant market systems in Kenya, and promote relevant KCIC involvement in policy advocacy efforts.
Manage a high performing Enterprise Development Management Team.
Qualifications
At least 7 years professional working experience, 3 of which should be in a managerial role in investment portfolio management in agribusiness, water, commercial forestry and renewable energy sector;
Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration. Any related technical fields in agribusiness, renewable energy, forestry and water sectors is an added advantage.
A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in managing a portfolio of enterprises, with the ability to review, analyse and interpret budgets, financial management systems; financial statements (including income and expenditure statements and cash reconciliation statements) and audit reports.
CPA/ACCA qualification.
Deep market knowledge in SMEs/ private sector development as demonstrated by successful work experience.
Experience in managing portfolio of early and growth stage enterprises in the sectors of agribusiness, water, renewable energy, commercial forestry and waste management.
Understanding of climate change.
Strong commercial acumen with proven experience in coordination of technical and business development support to investees.
Strong communication, administrative and analytical skills.
