Job Purpose:
The Assistant Manager/Manager Employee Relations will be responsible for fostering a positive workplace culture and managing key aspects of employee relations within the Bank. This role encompasses consequence management, employee experience and disciplinary procedures. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of HR practices, local labour laws.
Key Responsibilities:
Consequence Management: Implement fair and consistent consequence management frameworks that address performance issues, misconduct, and grievances, ensuring alignment with organizational values and compliance with legal standards.
Disciplinary Procedures: Ensure just administration of disciplinary actions, ensuring that processes are fair, transparent, and consistent. Provide guidance and support to managers on handling disciplinary issues in alignment with company policies.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with leadership, managers, and HR teams to address employee relations issues, facilitate communication, and promote a healthy organizational climate.
Training and Development: Develop training programs for managers and employees on topics such as conflict resolution, diversity and inclusion, and effective communication to enhance overall employee relations.
Policy Development: Review and update employee relations policies and procedures to ensure they are current, compliant, and supportive of the bank’s strategic objectives.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree or relevant HR certification preferred.
7+ years of experience in human resources, with a focus on employee relations, organizational development, or a related area, ideally within the banking or financial services sector.
Strong understanding of employment law, HR best practices, and regulatory requirements.
