You have at least 3 years’ experience working as an electrical engineer or on a related field.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Assemble, install, maintain, and troubleshoot agroprocessing machines and their peripherals
Troubleshoot problems, and find suitable solutions
Define and perform test procedures for improvement, safety, and quality control
Define repair processes
Perform field installations of machines and systems
Train machine operator on the proper use of machines
Provide field support if problems are encountered via phone, or travel to site
Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance
Quality controlling assembled machines
Create technical documentation for other (non-technical) team members or customers
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Required qualifications
Degree in electrical engineering or related field
Demonstrated expertise with electronics, embedded systems, SMT and PTH soldering
Driver’s license
EPRA Class T2 license
Proficiency with MS Office suite
Excellent spoken Kiswahili including technical language
Preferred qualification
Experience with fixing mechanical problems (motor bikes, cars, industrial machinery, and/or agricultural machinery)
Experience with sizing, installing, and servicing standalone solar systems
Experience with product development and product optimization
Experience working with electric motors, batteries and/or solar systems
Experience with diagnostics, testing, and evaluating printed circuit boards
Experience with embedded firmware development in C/C++
Required skills
Problem solving skills: ability to diagnose and resolve previously unseen problems
Strict attention to detail
Working knowledge of workshop tools, common appliances and devices (multimeters, oscilloscopes, saws, drills, angle grinders, etc.)
Demonstrated ability to independently define and perform test procedures
Dependability: ability to deliver results in a reliable fashion
Ability to repair broken equipment
Excellent Kiswahili including technical language to help customers with their technical problems
Ability to work autonomously: ability to foresee all required steps, ask for help if needed, then perform all required steps
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to communicate technical problems and solutions to a non-technical audience
Recordkeeping: ability to retain records of performed actions and results
Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and Word)
