Duty Manager

Job Summary – (Role Summary)
Reporting to the Front Office Manager you will be involved in all matters affecting guest service and hotel operations to ensure guests receive prompt attention and personal recognition throughout the hotel. It is your duty to respond to all guest needs and ensure that issues which may arise will be dealt with promptly and followed up on. As Duty Manager you will supervise and support the Reception, Guest Relations, Concierge teams and coordinate with all other teams of the Hotel.
Duties and Responsibilities
To consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging services to guests
To communicate through shift briefings, emails and departmental meetings all pertinent information for the respective shift and areas of operation
To assist guests regarding hotel facilities in an informative and helpful way
To follow department policies, procedures and service standards
To follow all safety policies
Qualifications
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelors degree in Hospitality Management
Minimum of 2-3 years experience in a supervisory role in the Front Office department in a five star hotel.
Strong leadership skills to motivate the team
Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
Accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutions
An ability to stay calm when the pressure mounts
Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
Highly responsible & reliable
Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team
Good knowledge about the emergency procedures and will have an essential role during Emergency evacuation procedures.
A passion for guest satisfaction is essential.
Knowledge of Opera system is of advantage.
