Job Description

This role reports to the Cluster Director of Sales and will be available, as needed, to support hotel operations. Responsibilities and essential job functions include:

RESPONSIBILITIES

To greet, welcome and farewell guests pleasantly and professionally offering a high level of engaging service.
To promptly answer the telephone and respond to all guests and colleagues’ inquiries with accurate information.
To be familiar with the property, all the facilities and services offered. To be familiar with recommended places of interest within Nairobi and Kenya as a whole.
Assists passengers in boarding and exiting vehicle. Loads and unloads luggage, packages and other items.
Reports accidents or other safety situations to manager on duty.
Inspects exterior and interior of vehicle at beginning of each shift for properly operating headlights, turn signals, brake lights, interior courtesy lamps, air‑conditioning or heating, warning lamps, mirror adjustment, properly inflated tires, windshield wipers, vehicle damage, etc. prior to moving vehicle. 
To be timely, accurate and courteous during all interaction with guests or colleagues.
To ensure that vehicles are operated safely and efficiently.
To close shifts with assertion and satisfaction and in the event of dissatisfaction, negotiate
Monitors traffic and weather conditions and notifies leader of potential problems.
To ensure that transfer procedures are followed accurately, consistently and completely as per held standards and checklists on each shift.
To become familiar with daily events, times and locations within and without the hotel.
To become knowledgeable of hotel outlets and services offered to include hours of operation.
To work closely with the sales, portage and Front desk colleagues to ensure smooth arrival and departure of guests and proper billing is effected for all transfers done.
To keep uniform neat and clean and be well groomed in accordance to rules in the Colleague Handbook as well as ensure that every work area is perfection clean.
Always ensure that accurate and precise handover is done for appropriate follow-up by colleagues on the on-coming shift.
To handle guest requests inquiries and complaints in a pleasant, professional and accommodating manner.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a Driver preferred
Valid Driver’s License required
Excellent communication skills and a professional presentation
Strong interpersonal, organizational and problem solving abilities
Highly responsible & reliable
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
Excellent knowledge of the flora and fauna and tourist attraction sites in the country
Good knowledge of the city and dining options available
Tour guiding skills.
