Divisional Sales Manager Sales Operations Manager

Purpose of the Job
Manage the Commercial Operations and ensure that the full range products are promoted to ensure budgets are achieved
Responsibilities for the Divisional Sales Manager Job
Ensure sales and margin budgets are achieved and expense budgets adhered to
Promote the company image and ensure sound relationships with customers
Ensure all branches are performing at their optimum
Develop & implement effective sales plans and goals to achieve budgets
Formulate plans and goals for submission to Head of Commercial
Evaluate results daily and review monthly. Take corrective action where necessary
Motivate sales staff to ensure sales activity
Maintain and continuously improve market share
Promote sales to achieve targets and profit
Promote sales
Monitor promotional activity
Ensure product range reviews to keep customers up to date
Monitor branches for achievement and take corrective action if necessary
Negotiate pricing to be competitive within policy mandate
Keep customers up to date with changes in legislation
Call regularly on the trade with emphasis on Retail Management
Ensure adherence to the “Close to the customer” concept
Monitor actual performance versus budget and take corrective action if necessary
Strive for cost savings where possible
Presentation of costs at monthly EXCO
Coordinate profitability plan amongst the branches and monitor regularly
Monitor expense budgets
Encourage management to manage their branches effectively
Provide direction, guidance and assistance to ensure managers are effective
Communicate the goals of the company to ensure understanding.
Achieve budgets in excess of targets
Liaise with national service manager to provide client service excellence throughout the branch network
Monitor spares sales, chargeable jobs and warranties and take corrective action
Monitor service turnaround time – Metro and Country. Take corrective action as required.
Ensure Technician performance and productivity are at optimum levels at all times
Ensure that distribution is run cost effectively and efficiently
Manage employees in terms of required standard of performance and productivity
Conduct performance management so that objectives are set and measured to meet employee and department needs
Identify potential successors for all key positions within the department to ensure effective succession planning
Enhance employee productivity by increasing employee morale and promoting employee satisfaction
Retain the talent and skills of employees by driving training and development
Select and interview new employees
Uphold the company values and lead by example

Essential Qualifications and Experience
BComm Marketing & Sales
7 – 10 years operational experience in a sales environment at a senior management level dealing with sales of products, electronics or product management
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
Postgraduate Degree or MBA in Sales and Marketing
10 or more years sales experience at senior management level
