Director of Programmes

We are hiring for our first Director of Programmes who will join the organisation’s Senior Management team to oversee our diverse programme portfolio focused on supporting the research and professional development of African researchers and practitioners, and encouraging policy and public engagement with local research.

Based in Nairobi, our ideal candidate will have prior academic and/or research experiences that can help provide substantial intellectual contributions to Mawazo’s programme development and implementation activities. They will also consider bridging the gender gap in the sciences as an urgent task in Africa’s development.

We are looking for someone with experience across a broad range of skills including; programme development, relationships management and fundraising, and strategic planning, who can work alongside our team of staff to deliver on our vision: a world in which the voices and ideas of African women are amplified to shape the future of the continent.
