About the Opportunity
Inkomoko is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Financial Planning and Analysis to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the CFO, the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis, will be responsible for leading the financial planning and analysis function across all countries within the organization
The primary goal will be to oversee the Organization’s financial activities and provide insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities
FINANCIAL PLANNING, & ANALYSIS (40% time)
Lead the financial planning and analysis process, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
Develop and maintain financial models to support decision-making and strategic initiatives.
Prepare regular financial reports and analyze them for senior management and the board of directors.
Analyze key performance indicators and provide insights to optimize performance and achieve financial targets.
Collaborate with department heads to analyze and interpret financial data for business planning.
Monitor market trends, economic indicators, and regulatory changes to assess potential impacts on the Organization’s financial position.
Lead the annual budgeting process and provide variance analysis.
Identify opportunities for cost optimization and revenue enhancement.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
TREASURY PLANNING AND MANAGEMENT (30%)
Monitor and manage the organization’s cash flow to ensure there is enough liquidity for day-to-day operations and to meet financial obligations.
Manage all aspects of the Organization’s treasury function, including cash management, cash forecasting, liquidity management, and risk management.
Assess and mitigate financial risks such as interest rate risks, foreign exchange risks, and liquidity risks to protect the organization’s financial health.
Develop and implement investment strategies to optimize returns on excess cash and ensure the organization’s financial stability.
Develop and implement treasury policies and procedures to ensure effective cash flow management and financial stability.
Manage the organization’s capital structure by determining the appropriate mix of debt and equity to achieve the organization’s financial goals.
Monitor and analyze financial market trends to optimize investment strategies and minimize financial risks.
Collaborate with internal teams to support strategic initiatives and provide financial insights and recommendations.
Oversee relationships with banking partners and financial institutions to negotiate favorable terms and maintain strong banking relationships.
LEADERSHIP & OPERATIONS (30% time)
Supervise the Treasury, Budgeting and Grant Reporting Managers to ensure smooth and coordinated financial operations
Develop finance team capacity and performance management;
Liaise with department directors to plan, report, and guide in effective financial management; serve as a member of various leadership teams.
Engage in a process of continuous improvement of the Finance Department, ensuring Inkomoko finance operations are lean, effective, and reflecting our changing programs
Minimum Qualifications
The leader poised for success in this role will have technical skills in finance, plus alignment with company vision/values, and ability to lead a technical team.
Successful candidates must navigate fast-paced environments with enthusiasm and incredible attention to detail.
Minimum qualifications include:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field. MBA, CPA or CFA designations preferred.
Ten-plus years of experience in financial planning and analysis, preferably in the banking or financial services industry.
Strong proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting.
Strong knowledge of treasury best practices, financial markets, and risk management techniques.
Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial software systems.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate across departments.
Experience with financial systems and tools (e.g., ERP systems, BI tools).
Proven ability to manage and develop a team of financial professionals.
