Summary
To ensure the smooth and efficient running of the Finance Department, while maintaining Hyatt International’s high standards of Financial & Human Resource management.
Custodian of the establishment’s credit manual and policies in addition to asset management protocols.
To implement efficient and day to day control systems, administration, reporting system and transfer of skills in all related areas.
To interpret financial results and work with respective Heads of Departments to maximize operating results, providing them with tools for future planning, revenue management and controls.
To implement local accounting procedures to ensure compliance with local government regulations, after approval from the Area/Corporate Offices.
To maintain complete and supported accounting records of the hotel as per Hyatt International and local policies and procedures.
To know and understand all terms and conditions of the Management Agreement ensuring these are adhered to at all times.
To prepare and interpret the financial statements/reports of the hotel.
To submit periodic reporting package on a timely basis to all stakeholders.
To prepare, supervise, scrutinize and approve monthly journal entries, balance sheet and income statement.
To audit the accounts, records and transactions of the hotel, aided by the ongoing efforts to streamllne internal control procedures.
To provide statistics to external parties as approved by Hyatt International and Hotel Management.
To ensure that all Department Operations Manuals are prepared and updated annually.
To conduct weekly Finance and Accounting Meetings.
To ensure that all meetings are well planned, efficient and result oriented.
To recruit and select Finance and Accounting employees who are able to work within the decentralized management philosophy, following Financial, Operational and administrative philosophies outlined above and who understand and support Hyatt International’s philosophy of multiskilling and multitasking.
To conduct performance appraisals and give employees regular feedback on their perfrormance.
To ensure all employees have a complete understanding of and adhere to the Hotel’s Employee Rules and Regulations, in addition to complying to the hotel’s policy on Fire, Hygiene, Health and Safety.
To carry out any other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Membership to ICPAK with valid Practicing Certificate, ACCA or its equivalent
Certified Accountant(CA) through the regulating local body
Bachelors Degree in Business/Finance
