Position Functions:
The holder of the position will report to the Director General and will be responsible for the following specific functions:
Formulation and implementation of overall NMK policies and strategies for human resources management and administration;
Coordinating and monitoring implementation of NMK human resource and administrative policies;
Advising the Board of Directors and management of NMK on all matters relating to human resources and administration;
Coordinating Human Resources Planning and Development;
Accounting for and coordinating the planning and execution of the directorate budget;
Ensuring that terms and conditions of service for the NMK staff are documented and implemented:
Coordinating the planning of procurement, allocation and utilization of supplies;
Coordinating the management of NMK physical assets;
Liaising with relevant Government Ministries and other institutions on general administrative matters;
Ensure availability of appropriate insurance policies for staff, assets and collections;
Assisting the Director General in preparation of Board of Directors meetings and implementation of Board decisions; and
Oversee planning and strategy, transport, security, marketing, information technology, and maintenance functions.
REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT
Twelve (12) years relevant work experience, five (5) of which should have been in Management position.
Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Business Administration/Human Resource/Public Administration or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
Master’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: Business Administration/Human Resource/Public Administration or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
Be a registered member of Institute of Human Resource Management in good standing
Leadership Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution
Proficiency in computer applications
Demonstrated professional competence and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
Fulfil the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution
