Direct, Clinical Training

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

In collaboration with the Senior VP, Global Programs, VP, Clinical Services & Technologies, and other senior leaders, lead and direct clinical training strategies and grow training portfolio to advance the Orbis Global Strategic Plan with focus on technology, blended learning, gender-specific initiatives and inclusive programming.
Establish and oversee new, and fully-leverage existing, OI training assets and partnerships to maximize the impact of investments and clinical programming and meet the needs of Orbis’s growing portfolio and global inclusive footprint in clinical training.
Lead and develop capacity around the globe to execute clinical training strategies and portfolio. This includes overseeing the recruitment, processing, and deployment of all volunteer faculty (VF) and managing formal academic partnerships.
In collaboration with Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) team develop and implement evaluation methods and tools to assess and advance the effectiveness of clinical training and impact of volunteer efforts and partnerships.
Identify and facilitate opportunities for innovation and new technologies to adapt and deliver the Orbis clinical training portfolio, particularly in simulation and distance learning.
Lead and facilitate blended-learning course development, including curricula development, content sourcing, storyboarding and design in collaboration with technical experts.
Deliver and facilitate technical input, guidance, and review of clinical training plans for the development of proposals, project plans and monitoring and evaluation methods and tools to ensure the effectiveness of clinical training and alignment with project, country, and organizational objectives.
Actively partner with and deliver contribution to Orbis fundraisers and revenue efforts in support of Orbis’s fundraising strategies and diversifying funding sources. Engage in exploration and expansion of restricted funding and gift-in-kind sources for all global training activities and relevant clinical activities.
Serve as a well-known clinical training advocate on the global stage including research on clinical training models, resources, and projects. Represent Orbis through active participation at external events and conferences.
Ensure effective financial management with accountability for meeting institutional standards and expectations.
Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Master’s degree or equivalent education and experience in international development, international public health, adult education, or medical education required. Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) preferred.
10+ years’ experience in medical education preferably with an international NGO
Demonstrated success leading public health project management activities efforts required.
Recognized specialist in adult education, facilitation, capacity building and/or clinical training activities ideally with published research and or presentations in this field
Advanced application in design and delivery of international development program and with proposal development, grants management, and quality improvement methodologies preferred

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Ability to effectively manage major projects with a significant level of accountability, especially in fields of simulation and blended learning
Independent decision-making capacity in several aspects of major organizational functions and projects
Demonstrated ability to be innovative and creative in identifying new ways of adapting and delivering Orbis clinical training portfolio, varied potential partnerships, and advancing organization’s impact and mission.
Strong interpersonal collaboration skills with team members as well as external partners
Highest level of energy, diplomacy, and persistence to achieve the work of the organization
Excellent communication skills with verbal and written English
Good public speaking and persuasion capacity
Ability to travel internationally 25% of the time
