DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Initiating action on the review of Policies in Geospatial Data management in keeping with growing Professional demand within the Country in line with digital/automation governance framework,
Assist the County Director of Survey and Mapping in establishment and maintenance of a County Geospatial Data infrastructure and Land information management system for the County.
Validating the processing, cataloguing, creation and updating of Geospatial Data, overseeing the storage, archiving and retrieval of geospatial data.
Creation and publishing of metadata, maintaining and updating of the clearmg House.
Developing Standards on Geospatial data produced by both Private, Public Organizations and coordinate other County Departments in Geospatial Data collection.
Ensuring upgrades of Geospatial records equipment. :
Verifying the estimation and costing of Geospatial Data Projects.
Liase with the ICT Department to carryout programming to customize the system to user’s demand and maintain the systems of the County GIS Lab.
Controlling dissemination of County Geospatial Data and
Any other duties that may be assigned by the County Director of Surveys and Mapping.

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT

For appointment to this grade, an Officer must: –

Served in the Grade of a Geospatial Data Officer and above or a comparable and relevant Position in the Public Service for a minimum period of three (3) years.
Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following discipline, Geospatial Engineering, BSc. Information Technology/Bsc. Computer Science, Land Survey and Photogrammetry, Geomatics and Geomatics Engineering and any other related field from a recognized Institution,
Attended a Senior Management Course from a recognized Institution.
Certificate in Computer Applications.
Demonstrated managerial, administrative Professional competence in work performance exhibited through understanding of National goals, Policies, Objectives and ability to relate them to the Geospatial data records function.
