Chairside Assistance: Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and arranging instruments and equipment. Pass instruments and materials to the dentist during procedures. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Instrument and Equipment Management: Assist with the maintenance, sterilization, and organization of dental instruments and equipment. Ensure all instruments are properly cleaned, disinfected, and prepared for use. Monitor and maintain dental supplies, restocking as needed.
Radiography and Imaging: Take and process dental X-rays as directed by the dentist. Ensure proper positioning of the patient and adherence to safety protocols. Assist in interpreting and documenting X-ray results.
Infection Control: Adhere to strict infection control protocols and maintain a clean and sterile environment. Follow standard precautions, including proper hand hygiene, wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), and proper disposal of hazardous materials.
Administrative Support: Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, maintaining patient records, billing, and insurance processing. Ensure accuracy and confidentiality of patient information.
Patient follow-up : follow up on patients after treatment, calling of older patients for hygiene visits, follow up on no shows and pending procedures follow up.
Patient Education: Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques, post-operative care, and treatment options. Provide instruction on proper brushing, flossing, and other preventive measures.
Laboratory Support: Assist with the creation and maintenance of dental impressions, models, and prosthetic appliances. Coordinate with dental laboratories for the fabrication of dental restorations.
Emergency Preparedness: Be prepared to handle dental emergencies, including maintaining emergency equipment and supplies. Assist the dentist in providing immediate care and comfort to patients in urgent situations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Diploma in dental assisting or equivalent experience
At least 5 years experience as a Dental Surgery Assistant
