Job Purpose
Dental Officers are responsible to a Dental Specialist in providing diagnostic, curative, preventive and rehabilitative dental services.
Duties and Responsibilities

Provide leadership to service delivery, coordinate work schedules and prepare
medical reports.
Ensure smooth running of the delivery services by ensuring the ensuring the 
equipment is in good working condition.
Prepare medical legal reports for all patients as may be required by police, legal 
professionals, and insurance
Represent the department in courts of law on matter arising from the services delivery
Seeking to establish strategic partnership and collaboration with stakeholders in 
support of improvement, in service delivery in the department.
Creating initiative to create innovations aimed at improving service delivery as the 
head of innovation team
Carrying out clinical audits to identify the points of weakness and give 
recommendations on improvements.
Attending to our patients referred to dental from public health facilities.
Carry out diagnosis of patients.
Investigate the patients and interpretation of the interpretation reports
Prescribing treatment modalities.
Carrying out procedures.
Managing the inpatients in conjunction with specialists
Teaching interns doctors and students from various institutions.
Providing leadership in the departmental procedures to supporting staff, nursing and technical staff
Ensuring proper data entry in the diary work registers.
Carrying out research in collaboration with the researchers on various forms of 
treatment and new emerging techniques of management of patients

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor of Dental Surgery (DS) degree or equivalent qualification from an institution 
recognized by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
Proof of completion of a one (1) year internship
Registration Certificate by the Medical Practitioners & Dentist Council.
Valid practicing license from Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
