Curriculum Designer (Online Learning)

The Role

The Curriculum Designer creates, consolidates, and disseminates educational content and materials that align with the organization’s learning objectives and target audience. You will play a crucial role in shaping the learning experience for students, employees, or learners in various contexts, such as schools, colleges, corporate training programs, or online learning platforms. Your work will involve collaborating with subject matter experts, instructional designers, and educators to design an effective and engaging curriculum that fosters knowledge acquisition and skill development.

Major Roles and Responsibilities:
The roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Curriculum Development: Design and develop comprehensive and structured curriculum content based on the learning objectives and target outcomes. This includes creating lesson plans, course outlines, learning activities, assessments, and supplementary materials.
Needs Assessment: Conduct thorough needs assessments to identify the learning needs and gaps of the intended audience. Use this information to inform the content development process and ensure it meets the learners’ requirements.
Learning Objectives: Define clear and measurable learning objectives for each module, lesson, or course to guide content creation and ensure alignment with overall learning goals.
Content Creation: Create engaging and interactive learning materials, such as presentations, e-learning modules, videos, infographics, quizzes, and other multimedia assets that enhance the learning experience and student outcomes.
Collaboration: Collaborate with subject matter experts, educators, and instructional designers to gather input, validate content accuracy, and ensure that the curriculum reflects the latest industry trends and best practices.
Research: Stay updated on the latest developments in education, technology, and instructional methodologies to integrate innovative and effective strategies into the curriculum design process.
Learning Technology: Utilize educational technology tools and learning management systems to deliver and manage curriculum content effectively.
Assessment and Evaluation: Develop formative and summative assessments to gauge learners’ progress and measure the effectiveness of the curriculum. Use evaluation data to make improvements and iterate on the curriculum design.
Quality Assurance: Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and quality of the curriculum content to maintain high standards of educational excellence.
Training and Support: Provide training and support to educators, trainers, or facilitators who will deliver the curriculum to ensure effective implementation.
Communications: Develop and distribute descriptive derivative course material for communications and outreach, using diverse multimedia tools and inputs
Adaptability: Demonstrate flexibility in adapting the curriculum to different learning environments, age groups, and learning styles.

Minimum Qualifications

Proven experience in curriculum design and development, preferably in diverse educational settings.
Knowledge of instructional design principles, learning theories, and pedagogical practices.
Track record using multimedia teaching tools and approaches for instructional and promotional purposes
Exposure to adult and executive learning principles
Familiarity with educational technology tools and learning management systems.
Strong creative and analytical thinking skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a team.
Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality educational content.
Experience with project management and meeting deadlines.
