Crop Protection Scientist

Roles & Responsibilites:

Designing the sampling/monitoring for pests and diseases and making appropriate recommendations to the Agriculture department.
Efficacy screening and seeking registration of new pesticides and plant growth regulators by the Pest Control Products Board (PCPB).
Seeking Phytosanitary certificate and Plant Import Permit (PIP) from Kenya Plant Health Inspectorate Services (KEPHIS) for fresh fruits or plants materials exported and imported 
Advising the Agriculture Department on pesticides usage, suitability, registration status and market acceptability.
Management of Crop protection/Research human and finance resources to ensure efficient utilization. This includes preparation, monitoring and control of the budget
Supporting and supervising the establishment and follow up of actions to achieve compliance of all national and international standards which the company subscribes to.

Minimun Requirements:

MSc. in Crop Protection or a closely related field.
5+  years of experience in field research work in crop protection
Substantial experience in Crop Protection regulatory systems.
Excellent knowledge and experience of Kenya, EAC and Global pesticides regulatory system.
Experience in food safety management systems.
