Country Supply Chain Lead

Job location: Nairobi, KenyaAs the Country Supply Chain Lead you manage a team of supervisors as well as individual contributors across multiple Supply Chain functions or multiple areas within a single function, including planning, sourcing or transportation. You lead coordination efforts with all areas of supply chain to drive continuous improvement and efficiency gain across our business in Kenya. In this challenging role, you will be asked to be a thought leader who leads the development and execution of projects aligned with the strategy, measuring and managing results across the end-to-end supply chain and driving continuous improvement, talent development and leadership, and effective deployment of supply chain processes aligned with functional requirements. The role also includes work in the areas of strategy and execution leadership, budget and resource management, performance management, business and functional supply chain interface, customer relationship.Major TasksStrategy & Planning

Leading and managing the implementation of supply chain long-term vision and strategic direction for the Business, including long-range objectives, policies and strategy;
Proving support in development, review, update of business strategy, annual operating plans and the related budgets as well as supporting annual targets for KPI’s regarding productivity, service, planning effectiveness, and inventory across the Supply Chain;

Performance Management

Managing and implementing the execution of centrally owned KPI reporting and dashboard reporting;
Administers measures to improve on customer reliability and service level agreements as well as action plans to improve on customer service for the Kenya team.

Transformation & Continuous Improvement

Facilitating the identification of opportunities to drive the organization to deliver improved end to end supply chain performance in multiple areas, enabling the Supply Chain to become a competitive advantage for Cargill;
Facilitating the development of strong relationships with other functional leaders (Finance, Commercial, HR);
Leading and managing projects and process improvements in the end-to-end Supply Chain organization to drive Continuous Improvement to excellence standards;
Using extensive knowledge of Supply Chain practices and procedures and ensuring that best practices are shared.

Leadership & Talent Management

Supporting and providing leadership for the integration of multiple areas of the Cargill Supply Chain, including customer service, planning, strategic sourcing/procurement, plant operations, and transportation & logistics;
Effectively managing the country Supply Chain team to ensure that customer expectations are met from planning to order fulfilment;
Building strong Supply Chain organization of direct reports through identifying, coaching and mentoring Supply Chain professionals.

Qualifications

Educated to Master’s Degree level, ideally with focus on Economics, Supply Chain or Logistic Management;
At least 10 years’ experience in Logistics & Supply Chain;
At least 5 years’ solid track record in People Management
Business fluency in English, both spoken and written;
Confident and professional communication manner;
Stress resilience;
Commercial mindset with proven track record in change management within large matrix organizations;
SAP or ERP knowledge;
Process mapping experience;
Preferably also experience in or knowledge about commodity trading and Agricultural Supply Chain.
