About the role
Purpose
Successful delivery of the Customs & Excise Tax Embedment Project to deliver the End2 End C&E process mapping and gap identification project as per the set timelines
This role sits in Global Tax and is responsible for supporting the C&E Tax Embedment project to deliver the e2e C&E process mapping and gap identifications. Failure to deliver the project may lead to compliance failures resulting in financial and reputational exposure for Diageo.

Diageo operates in over 180 markets around the world, with production sites in Global Supply, international operations (complex entity, market and product-flow structure and foreign exchange) and complex tax and treasury activities. Customs & excise process are complex and impact every country where the group operates.
Collaborating with the functions as required to deliver the successful delivery of the end to end C&E Tax Embedment project
The areas of the business you will support and who you will work with are:
Global Trade and Customs Compliance Team and other Regional CoE Teams
External Service providers of the embedment project
General Managers, Brand Teams, Finance Controllers and Market Finance Directors – align on new structure and ongoing risk management processes

Accountabilities
Work together with the relevant Functions and the external service providers to map End2End process that have an impact on Customs and Excise duty.
Review the process mapping documentations prepared by the external service providers and actively manage the process mapping workshops to capture the AS IS processes, the process gaps, risks and controls, document retention requirements
Promptly identify and manage any emerging risk in relation to the project (timeliness or quality) and escalate these in due course to the senior management
Ensure that consistent and quality deliverables are produced by the service providers that include all relevant touchpoints between the teams and system flows so every gap is identified.
Ensure that the C&E team and Functions in country are aligned with the gaps and remediation proposal and manage a timely sign off procedure.
About You
Experience required/Skills/Capabilities/Languages
Global Trade governance experience
Managing risk and dealing with enquiries and audits from customs and excise authorities
5 years of experience within a Global Trade/Supply function in a global multinational company
Experience of providing domestic and cross border technical advice
Effective project management and implementation skills
Good team working and communication skills across diverse cultures
