Corporate Finance Junior Analyst

As a Corporate Finance, Junior Analyst, you will be responsible for creating weekly/monthly reports, scoreboards, and dashboards, and you will work with other departments and outside parties such as auditors and liquidity partners and investors to ensure accurate financial and portfolio reporting. Overall, you’ll spend 60-80% of your time working in Excel and other programs to analyse and consolidate data, create reports, and automate processes and providing actionable information on profitability and liquidity. You’ll spend the remaining 20-40% working with people in other divisions at the company, often on calls or in meetings.
Primary Roles & Responsibilities;

Assist with treasury duties and accounting by working closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting
Evaluate financial performance by comparing and analysing actual results with plans and forecasts
Guide the cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures
Analysing company performance on an absolute and relative basis; analysing budgets, income statement forecasts, and other financial data that clearly illustrate the company’s financial status and any risks that may exist. 
Investor relations ( Lenders on our marketplace) and portfolio analysis and reporting and advising them on how to maximise returns on their portfolios.
Operational metrics tracking and make recommendations for improvements
Identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and Excel dashboards

 
Secondary Roles & Responsibilities;

Audit checks on disbursements made daily/weekly/monthly by auditing transactions from the dashboards.
Assist in operations and on boarding of liquidity deals
Perform market research, data mining and business intelligence
Maintain a strong financial analysis foundation creating forecasts and models

The Successful Applicant;
The successful candidate needs to have the following experiences;

Education: Must be from a Finance/Economics or Accounting or Actuarial Science or investment banking background 
MUST have strong fluency with Excel formulas and functions
At least 3 years working experience in accounting or/and Finance role
High level communication skills
Strong analytical and data gathering skills
ADDED ADVANTAGE: familiarity with data query/data management tools is extremely helpful (Access, SQL, Business Objects)

High level of integrity, discipline and attention to detail
Commercial banking or finance experience in a medium- to-larger corporate or BIG Five accounting firms combined with the technical skills will be an added advantage
