The Position
Our Contracting team ensures competitive prices, by establishing and maintaining relationships with suppliers to secure the most advantageous contract terms. The team also builds a stock of suitable product options to enable our business to create itineraries based on customer needs. With the guidance, tools, and materials provided by the Intrepid Global team, you will provide leadership to the team and be responsible for the implementation of procurement and pricing practices within the Intrepid East Africa. You will ensure Global policies, processes and training are rolled out to deliver the best price and product, and all data and information required by sales and for costings will be accurately maintained within Travel Studio by the team.
An important part of this role will be to gather feedback and information on our sustainable, experience-rich travel experiences from the locals and source an adequate supply of products for use in customer inquiry and itineraries. This is a full-time permanent position, based out of our office in Nairobi, Kenya and can operate on a hybrid basis for the right candidate.
A love of travel is a must-have! With that you’ll bring experience in:
A thorough understanding of and passion for Intrepid’s style of travel, including the styles of our different brands
Knowledge of products, suppliers, destinations and the travel industry in local region
Experience in procurement processes, contracting, negotiation and product development
Experience managing staff and leading a team
Ability to communicate well in written and spoken English
Undergraduate and graduate degrees would be an advantage
You’ll have outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail and be able to demonstrate your leadership in your approach to teamwork. Your strong decision-making skills and ability to drive and manage continuous improvement and change will be the catalyst to your success in this role, while always living to Intrepid’s core values of integrity, innovation, fun, passion, growth, and responsibility
