Continuous Improvement Manager

Duties and responsibilities

Will be a member of the Manufacturing Engineering team but will work cross-functionally with all departments where necessary
Responsible for all kaizen activities including but not limited to:
Improvement of jigs & fixtures
Production Line Layout and improvements
Optimization of processes to improve efficiency/safety/usability/changeover times
Layout optimization – in conjunction with support from the Head of Manufacturing and the CTO.
Optimization of Kanban activities and material flow
Process Flows
Process development – project-based, with the support of the Head of Engineering.
Line Balancing, headcount reduction, time studies
Input into Standard Operating Procedures related to Engineering and optimization activities

Skills and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Industrial, Process, Mechanical)
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification is a must
5+ years of experience working in an engineering/manufacturing organization preferably appliances or automotive
Proven experience in running and implementing continuous improvement activities
People management experience.
Experience in manual assembly operations, metal stamping and forming, and designing tools for use by factory production.
Strong mechanical CAD design knowledge (2D required, 3D helpful).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, use statistical methods, direct input from production (Gemba), and be extremely hands-on.
Must be able to personally implement engineering concepts on the production floor (very important).
